Update from The Stable

May 11th, 2020

Like all of you, The Spence Family has being trying to navigate the New World where Covid-19 has completely transformed our lives since the middle of March and will continue to do so into the future.

In response to the Covid-19 Virus outbreak and the recent encouraging news indicating a slowing in the virus spread, the Provincial Government has developed a three stage program to re-open Ontario’s economy in a safe and sustainable manor.  With these fluid guidelines in place, we can now start preliminary planning for the physical re-opening of The Hobby Horse Quilt Shoppe.

Based on the guidelines supplied, The Hobby Horse Quilt Shoppe falls into Stage 3.  We are currently targeting for re-opening the Stable Doors on Thursday July 2nd, subject to the Provincial Government and Health Unit directions.

So what will it look like?  That’s what we are working on.  We need to ensure our wonderful staff members can operate in a safe environment as well as giving you a safe environment to visit.  As we move forward, we will be sharing with you our new “normal”.

Until then, we will continue to be physically closed.  We will have CASH ONLY PORCH PICK UP of Elastic Bundles, Mask Kits and Fabric Sampler Kits on weekends.  More information will be supplied shortly on these items and the process.  We do not have the capacity to process any other orders for porch pick-up or shipping at this time.

Think of this new experience as a Crazy Quilt.  There are lots of bits and pieces.  We are trying to preserve the best of the past, work with the new of the present and the wishes of the future.  At the end, it will tell a story of how we all survived the Year of 2020.

Until then, stay safe and please continue to protect yourself and others  by practicing Covid-19 safety practices.
